Shop - Khol (Fibre Shell)

The Khol is a traditional two-sided Drum which originates from the north-eastern states of India namely West Bengal, Assam & Manipur. It is a popular accompaniment for Devotional & folk music of that region. The drum has a hollow earthen body, with drum-heads at both ends, one smaller than the other. It is played with the palms & fingers of both hands. Many modern versions are made with a fibreglass body and synthetic drumheads. The instrument ranges between 22-24 inches in length, with the right head measuring 3-5 inches and left head measuring 6-8 inches in diameter.
